Big Rocks

Standley Chasm: 50km west of Alice Springs. This steep cleft in the MacDonnell Ranges is only five meters wide. At midday, when the sun reaches to its floor and lights up the chasm walls, it is a popular site for photographers. Picnic grounds, barbeque area.

155km West of Alice Springs you can locate Finke Gorge National Park.  A huge wilderness park with unusual rock formations.  Included in the park is Palm Valley, an oasis-like region with beautiful rock pools and an ancient species of palm tree unique to this area.
