The Glassouse Mountains, a series of volcanic plugs shrouded in Aboriginal legend, form the centerpieces of the lush hinterland north of Brisbane. You can see the rising ape-like shape of Tibrogargan and the spindly pinnacle of Coonowrin from the Glasshouse Lookout signposted from the Bruce Highway. Also worth explor8ing are the Blackall Ranges and the mountain villages of Monteville and Maleny with their gift shops, tearooms and cafes.
